【About the Designer: Yasuo Nishimoto】

Yasuo Nishimoto is the premier field tester and pro-staff member for DEEP LINER, fully endorsed by its founder, Masayoshi Higashimura. As a leading pioneer of Super Deep Jigging in Japan, Yasuo has spent recent years developing the "Power Slow Game"—a specialized slow-pitch method designed to trigger strikes from massive tuna that have become wary of traditional baits. This rod is the culmination of his vast experience and relentless field testing.

Produced by Yasuo Nishimoto. The CROSS-BORDER TUNA was developed for one purpose: to dominate massive tuna without sacrificing the true essence of slow-pitch jigging—the "joy of manipulating the jig."

Choose the optimal power rank based on your target size and the conditions of your expedition:

• L (Light) | Yellowfin Specialized

  • Target: Yellowfin Tuna (20–50kg class)

  • Concept: Focuses on high-response jig manipulation. Best for technical games where precise jig action is key to triggering strikes.

• M (Medium) | Versatile Big Game

  • Target: Large Yellowfin & Small/Medium Bluefin (50–100kg class)

  • Concept: The core of the Power Slow game. Combines high repulsion for deep water with the tenacity needed for mid-range heavy combat.

• H (Heavy) | Monster Bluefin Spec

  • Target: Giant Bluefin Tuna (100kg+ class)

  • Concept: A brute-force model built for direct confrontation with the ocean's biggest predators. Designed to transmit maximum reel power to the fish.

• 6'3" Length for Precision Boat-Side Maneuvers:

  The 6'3" length allows anglers to easily clear the boat’s hull when a tuna circles underneath during the final stages of the fight, preventing heart-breaking line breaks.

• Underarm Fight Design with Operational Focus:

  The CROSS-BORDER TUNA utilizes a carbon tubular blank specifically designed for an underarm fight. It allows you to maintain a deep bend to apply pressure while utilizing the reel’s power to recover line, keeping the advantage on the angler's side.

• Custom Reel Seat for Large-Scale Reels:

  Developed in collaboration with Fuji Kogyo, this rod features a newly designed "Size 19" carbon reel seat. Built exceptionally rigid to fit large reels (like Blue Heaven) perfectly, the double-nut system ensures zero loosening during grueling fights.

• One-Piece Construction for Ultimate Reliability:

  To maximize sensitivity and eliminate structural risks, this rod features a true one-piece design. This prevents the blank from twisting and guides from misalignment under extreme loads. The 1.91m length is carefully balanced for superior blank performance and handling during transport.
