🔴 Characteristics of Red Assist Line

Red is a color with a wavelength that attenuates relatively quickly underwater,
and it is generally understood to appear darker as water depth increases.

SEAFLOOR CONTROL conducted experiments in collaboration with the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC),
in which the company’s colors were actually submerged to deepwater depths.
The results showed that, beyond a certain depth, red appears darker than black.

On the other hand, in depths where light penetration is present,
red is also said to be one of the colors that can be more easily perceived as contrast.

In this way, red is a color whose appearance changes depending on conditions such as depth and available light.
Based on these characteristics, SEAFLOOR CONTROL has adopted red as the color for its assist lines.

By incorporating fluorocarbon into the assist line, it maintains an appropriate level of stiffness, helping to reduce tangling around the hook.
