🎣 Gamakatsu Vertical Limit – Engineered Specifically for Slow Pitch Jerk

Developed to meet the demands of modern Slow Pitch Jerk, the Gamakatsu "Vertical Limit" combines a lightweight design that doesn't hinder jig action with a unique head and shank geometry to ensure secure hook-ups and minimize lost fish.

[Key Features and Logic]
  • Micro-Barb: Features an ultra-small barb that significantly reduces frictional resistance compared to standard barbs, ensuring exceptional penetration even with light rod inputs.

  • Partially Forged Bend: By intentionally leaving the bend (where the fish's tissue is held) unforged, the load is distributed more evenly. This dramatically reduces skin tearing during violent head shakes.

  • Flat Shank: The flat surface on the shank prevents the assist line from slipping or rotating. The protrusions securely "bite" into the binding thread, preventing the line from pulling out.

  • Wide Head: The spade (head) is wider than conventional designs, preventing the line from slipping off during knotting and providing absolute confidence when using thicker assist lines.

[Assist Line Specifications]

This product is rigged with Gamakatsu ASSIST LINE 480, known for its superior abrasion resistance and ideal stiffness. This setup prevents the hook from fouling on the jig while ensuring every contact is converted into a solid hook-up.

[Glossary of Technical Terms]
  • Micro-Barb: An extremely small barb designed to prioritize penetration depth over sheer holding power, ideal for the light-wire hooks used in SPJ.

  • Partially Forged: A technique where only specific parts of the hook are flattened for strength. Leaving the "bend" round prevents the hook from cutting through the fish's mouth like a blade.

  • Spade End (Wide Head): A flat, non-eyed hook end. This allows for a lighter hook and a more direct connection to the assist line compared to bulky eyelets.

  • Fouling: When the assist hook becomes tangled with the jig or the main line, a common issue that the "stiffness" of Assist Line 480 is designed to prevent.
